about us
Tutelage Learning Center (TLC) has been a small, progressive school operating in Cebu City for almost 20 years.
Our school started offering playgroup classes and tutorials and, over the course of 20 years, have continually added programs. We now have toddler, preschool, elementary and junior high classes. Still, we have maintained providing quality education through small class sizes and limiting the Teacher to Student ratio.
Our curriculum emphasizes on the development of the whole child. We not only focus on the academic progress, but we also aid our pupils in learning Life Skills, Money Skills, Character Formation and Etiquette, among others.

Mission
To become one of Cebu City’s leading progressive primary schools.
Vision
Tutelage Learning Center is an exclusive school that employs a progressive approach of learning –breaking away from the traditional route of structured and authoritarian classroom environment. Although we put intrinsic value to traditional materials, we embrace child-appropriate technology that aids in learning.
The school carefully selects and accepts students with or without exceptional needs from ages 1 year 6 months until Graders. We are conveniently situated at the center of business districts and middle class to upscale residences in Banilad, Cebu City.
We maintain a casual, safe and comfortable working environment- which respects punctuality, resilience and initiative.
Our commitment to holistic learning and small-teacher student ratio as well as teaching using the progressive approach sets us apart from other schools.
We put great value on environmental sustainability through proper garbage segregation, recycling and energy conservation practices. We also maintain the over-all health and well-being of our students by promoting use of organic and natural products that are non-toxic especially to children.
We are educating the youth by inculcating values for them to become active and involved future leaders of the society.

What is a progressive school?
A progressive school believes that:
* Education should be pleasant and practical.
* Education is for the “whole” child.
* Intelligence is recognized as varied, includes the arts, and is measured in real-life problem-solving.
* Teachers should be kind, patient, and encourage school participation.
* Knowledge is constructed through play, direct experience, and social interactions.
What is your Student:Teacher ratio?
Actual Student: Teacher ratio is dependent on the personality of the class; however, we set an approximate number such as:
Beavers and Cubs 1: 8;
Rovers 1: 9;
Rangers and Eagles 1:10;
Graders and Junior High 1: 12;
EI 1: 5
Do you use books?
Books and other literature are used as reference and as workbooks; however, we do not limit ourselves to one publisher. We also create our own workbooks and worksheets according to the learning styles of our students.
What are the requirements?
Students:
Hygiene Kit
School materials
Original copy of Birth Certificate (NSO)
2 copies of Child’s 2×2 ID with white background
Form 137 (transferees)
Nanny:
2 copies of 2×2 ID with white background
Copy of recent x-ray results (if nanny will remain at school while student is in class)
Gate Pass (for authorized pick-up): 2 x 2 IDs with white background
Can Parents or Nannies stay inside the classroom?
At Tutelage, we wish to instill independence and self-reliance as young as playgroup-aged children. Caregivers are enjoined to wait for their Child at the Nanny’s area. The school does not require a Nanny to be present. Titas are available upon Teacher’s request for any assistance.
What kind of snacks should we bring?
We encourage only healthy snacks be brought to school. Bring snacks in reusable containers, and not in their original packaging to minimize trash and so you can keep track of how much your child eats. Leftovers will be placed back in the reusable container.
